Eagle’s Haymaker Recreation Hub Receives Prestigious Statewide Award

The Town of Eagle, in collaboration with Mountain Recreation, Vail Valley Mountain Trails Alliance (VVMTA), and Eagle County BMX, has been recognized with the 2026 Colorado Lottery Starburst Award for the Haymaker Recreation Hub Enhancement Project. This accolade highlights the project’s substantial contribution to expanding year-round recreational opportunities for residents of all ages.

Selected from a record number of applications, the Haymaker Recreation Hub was one of just 18 projects statewide to receive this honor. The award underscores the project’s statewide significance and its role in enhancing outdoor adventure access within the community.

Tom Seaver, Senior Executive Director of the Colorado Lottery, stated, “The Starburst Awards showcase projects that demonstrate the real impact of Lottery proceeds. These investments help protect our outdoors, strengthen communities, and ensure Colorado remains a great place to live and explore.”

To celebrate this achievement, an awards presentation is scheduled for Friday, May 29, at 4 p.m. at the Eagle Outdoor Pool. Community members are encouraged to attend and join in recognizing the collaborative efforts that led to this prestigious award.

The Haymaker Recreation Hub Enhancement Project exemplifies Eagle’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and active community, providing residents with diverse recreational opportunities that promote health and well-being.
