Eagle’s Business Advancement Program Fuels Local Economic Growth

The Town of Eagle has launched the Business Advancement Program (BAP), a $120,000 grant initiative aimed at bolstering the local economy by supporting businesses across the community. This program reflects Eagle’s commitment to fostering a diverse and sustainable economic environment.

Program Overview

Funded through a $100,000 grant from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs’ Rural Economic Development Initiative (REDI) and a $20,000 investment from the Town, the BAP offers one-to-one matching grants. These grants are designed to assist businesses with site enhancements, facility upgrades, expansion efforts, and workforce housing stipends. The program encompasses all five of Eagle’s commercial hubs: Market Street, Chambers Avenue, Grand Avenue, Downtown/Broadway, and Eagle Ranch.

Grant Recipients and Projects

In its inaugural year, the BAP awarded funding to 20 local businesses, each contributing matching funds to amplify the program’s impact. Notable recipients include:

  • The Back Bowl and Bowlmor Cafe & Sports Lounge: Received $2,500 to refresh and upgrade outdoor patio seating.
  • Beyond Golf: Granted $5,000 for facility improvements to add two more Golfzon simulators.
  • Blizzard Boba: Awarded $2,500 to support the purchase of new equipment for an expanded menu.
  • Canela Coffee and Pastry Shop: Secured $3,000 to replace and upgrade to commercial-grade kitchen flooring, along with $2,500 in rental housing assistance for staff living in Eagle.

These projects are expected to roll out throughout the year, with many improvements becoming visible during the summer and fall seasons.

Community Impact

The BAP is more than just a financial boost; it’s a catalyst for community-driven development. Nikki Davis, Economic Development & Housing Specialist, emphasized the program’s role in fostering momentum among local businesses. “We’re seeing businesses take the next step by expanding, innovating, and reinvesting in ways that will have a lasting impact on Eagle,” Davis noted.

By enhancing the local business landscape, the program aims to improve the experience for residents and visitors alike, whether it’s through upgraded facilities, expanded services, or improved employee housing options.

Looking Ahead

The success of the BAP underscores the importance of investing in local businesses as a strategy for economic growth and community development. As these projects come to fruition, they are expected to contribute to increased local economic activity and long-term sales tax generation, reinforcing Eagle’s commitment to a thriving and sustainable economy.
